Love Diaries
“Love Diaries” is a live performance event series meticulously crafted by and for black and brown storytellers. This event offers an opportunity to explore a myriad of emotions, frequencies, and concepts that encapsulate the diverse manifestations of love within the black diaspora.

Serving the Whole Child: A Focus on Food Security
Connecticut Public and the CT Black & Brown Student Union (CT BBSU) are partnering to host a series of one-hour conversations that explore what communities and policymakers can do to serve the whole child. The conversation at The Artists Collective in Hartford will focus on access to healthy food.
The federal government says more than 8 percent of the U.S population—nearly 24 million people-- live in a food desert—or places that do not have access to supermarkets. Food deserts are present in both urban and rural communities in our state.
The community is invited to attend this free event! There will be refreshments from 6-6:30 pm followed by a discussion with panelists:
Lauren Little: Farmer & Educator
Christine Caruso: Wesleyan University Asst. Professor of the Practice in the College of the Environment
Jocelyn Cerda: Founder, Mercado Popular
Emmanuel Elijah Nelson: Artist & Herbalist
Moderator: Shineika Fareus, Executive Director of CT Black & Brown Student Union (CT BBSU)
Opening remarks by Annie Stockton: Vice President at United Way of Southeastern CT Food Center
